50+ Black-Owned Wellness Businesses to Support Today

This post is sponsored by Edge Naturale, a black-owned hair company specializing in caring for natural hair care. Read more of my review below, all opinions are my own.

First and foremost, Black Lives Matter, always have and always will. Even though that statement should go without saying, America is a country where Black people live in fear just because of the color of our skin. This post isn’t to talk about how much black people are oppressed, there are plenty of resources where you can read about that; it is to provide some positive actions that you can take to support the Black community – specifically, Black businesses in the wellness industry.

Supporting Black business not only supports the individual that you are buying from, but rather the entire community. Let’s have a little history lesson and go back to the early 1900’s to Tulsa, Oklahoma. ‘Black Wall Street’ was the name of a shopping strip in the city where everything was Black owned. Black people were thriving until the riot in 1921 where racist white people destroyed the community. They rebuilt Black Wall Street within a year but by the late 1950’s, desegregation allowed for white owned businesses to have shops in Black Wall Street and caused many of the Black owners and shoppers to look elsewhere to spend their money.

It would be a lie if we denied that our country values money and ownership. Let’s give our people a fighting chance to be successful in this country.

Since my brand focuses on wellness, I will be listing black-owned wellness brands and companies that you can support online! If I have personally used a product from the list below, you’ll see a star next to the description! Also, the list is broken down into the categories: skincare, haircare, aromatherapy, fitness, and mental health. I tried to also include smaller businesses and local Black-owned businesses as well to the list below. Feel free to shout out your Black-owned company or one that you recommend below! Edge Naturale: I was sent the Follicle Enhancer to try for my edges. If you are unfamiliar with my hair journey, check my IGTV! But to sum it up, my hair has been through a lot. This product arrived at the right time and has really helped me on my hair care journey.

The product contains Peppermint oil, argan oil, avocado oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, and other ingredients to aid in growing your edges! The product smells just like a peppermint candy, has a great smooth consistency, and leaves your scalp feeling tingly and clean. Also, this product is pure and natural, cruelty free and made and tested in the USA.

I apply the products to my edges and scalp every night and massage. Be sure to check out their website and see the before and after pictures for yourself!

  1. Great introduction! I really appreciate reading the history of Black Wall Street. I had heard about this tragic event already, but I had not heard that it had been rebuilt or the role desegregation played in its ultimate demise. Sad that something that was meant to benefit our people had the opposite effect. This is an extensive list, so I will be pinning this so that I can refer to it in the future. Thanks for sharing! 😊

  2. Wellness Travel Diaries

This is honestly such a great list! I loved how you broke it up into different sections. I’ve been on my wellness journey for 2 years now and I’m looking for different aromatherapy things that I can travel with. Can’t wait to check each of them out!
